Tomb of Sultan Hasanuddin is a historical tourist attraction located in the cemetery of the kings of Gowa in Somba Opu Katangka Gowa in South Sulawesi. Buried in the same place anyway Sultan Alauddin (Raja Islam that developed first in the Kingdom of Gowa) and the left front of the tomb complex, there is a location where the inauguration of the king of Gowa who named Stone Pallantikan. Sultan Hasanuddin (born in Makassar, South Sulawesi, January 12, 1629 - died in Makassar, South Sulawesi, June 12, 1670) was the 16th king of Gowa and Indonesian national hero born with the first name Mohammed Bakir Mallombasi Daeng Mattawang Karaeng Bonto Mangepe. After converting to Islam, he received the title of Sultan Hasanuddin additional Tumenanga Pangkana Ri Balla, only known as Sultan Hasanuddin alone. Because of his bravery, he was nicknamed De Haantjes van Het Oosten by the Dutch, which means the Roosters  from the East Continent. He was buried in Katangka, Makassar.
Sultan Hasanuddin was the second son of Sultan Malikussaid, King of Gowa-15. Sultan Hasanuddin of Gowa reign, when the Dutch who represented the Company is trying to master the spice trade. Gowa is a great kingdom in the eastern region of Indonesia, which controls trade channels.
In 1666, under the command of Admiral Cornelis Speelman, the Company seeks subjecting small kingdoms, but have not managed to subdue Gowa. On the other hand, took the throne after Sultan Hasanuddin, he tried to combine the power of small kingdoms in the eastern part of Indonesia against the Company.
The battle continues, the Company adds to the strength of his army and eventually Gowa increasingly desperate and weak that on the date of 18 November 1667 is willing to hold peace Bungaya in Bungaya. Gowa feel aggrieved, because the Sultan Hasanuddin oppose it again. Finally, the Company requested the help of the army to Batavia. The battle broke out again in various places. Hasanuddin provide fierce resistance. Help add to the strength of army troops from outside the Company, until the Company managed to break through the strongest fortress Citadel Sombaopu Gowa ie on June 12, 1669. Sultan Hasanuddin later resigned from the throne and died on June 12, 1670.
